“City to FC: Muscovado sugar, red raisin, plum, and a tart tamarind candy. Complex cup, fruited tea, grape skins, SO espresso.” -Sweet Maria’s
The initial taste has a dark sugar and raisin sweetness, as well as a nice molasses like spice, with a lingering tea-like finish. The body is light with a tart acidity, but the mouthfeel has a slight juiciness to it.
As the cup cools, the dark fruit and sugar sweetness have increased with a hint of tartness, but there is still a light acidity with a tea-like finish. The body is still light, and the mouthfeel still has a juiciness to it. As it cools further, the tamarind tartness is more evident, but the sweetness of the dark sugars balance it well, and the finish lingers with a dry, tea-like finish.
